Massacre at Near Island

Diamond coated slate glistens
splitting gray ocean
with froth.
Predators now prey, chased
by cobalt and cream
sea wolves.
Gangs of killers smile, swimming
Lions, thrown skyward,
splash down.
In red salty pools life ebbs.
fisherman laughing
rejoice.
Sated, tired, and gory
the pod swims back out
to sea.
